OVERVIEW

Situated in the Eumundi hinterland, this modest 4 bedroom homes provides a bespoke, site and climatic specific alternative to the traditional project home. Orientated to the north, the home serves to maximise views with deep eaves and western shading providing protection in summer and access to warmth in winter. Working with the construction budget, the home is designed to prioritise living and bedroom spaces positioning these to the north with expansive openings, tall ceilings, and higher level of finish/detailing. Service spaces are secondary and intimate, located to the south, integrating into the available space created by an angled southern wall running along contour. The materials are durable and conventional but are detailed purposely to provide interest through the alignment of joins and intersections along with a contrast heavy and light weight materials to ground the structure to the landscape or float/ cantilever above.
